Privacy policy for qEVENT Mobile

qEVENT Mobile is the companion app your organisation gives you to work inside a live qSAFE or qTALK zone. This page explains, in plain language, what the app collects, why, and who can see it.

What we collect

While a zone is open, qEVENT Mobile collects:

  • Your live position — shared with your organisation's zone only while the app is open. We never collect your position in the background or once the app is closed.
  • Your name and phone number — the ones you enter when you join a zone.
  • Chat messages, photos, and push-to-talk voice clips you choose to send in the zone.
  • Zone and user identifiers, so your messages and position reach the right zone.
  • Battery level — only at the moment you trigger an SOS, so responders can judge urgency.

Who sees it

Your organisation's zone coordinators and the other members of the same zone can see this data while the zone is open. qEVENT staff access it only to keep the service running or when your organisation asks us for support.

How long we keep it

By default, everything is live-only: it exists while the zone is open and is deleted at zone stand-down. If your organisation has switched on data retention for a zone — their choice, and visible to them when it's on — that zone's data is kept for the period they've set, for after-action review and reporting.

What we don't collect

qEVENT Mobile is built to collect as little as possible:

  • No tracking, no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs.
  • No location once the app is closed or running in the background.
  • The personal safety-contact number you can optionally store in the app stays on your device — it is never uploaded to our servers.

How you get access

You don't sign yourself up — the app has no self-service account creation. Your organisation provisions your access and gives you an org code, a QR code, or credentials to join a zone. To have your data removed, ask your organisation's zone coordinator, or contact us directly.

Who is responsible for your data

The organisation running the zone — your employer, club, or agency — is the data controller: they decide why the zone exists and who is in it. qEVENT, operated by Raadig AS, processes the data on their behalf as a data processor.
